Course description

It assesses your ability to handle information and digital tools safely and effectively. In EPSO/AD/427/26, the Digital Skills test has 40 multiple-choice questions in 30 minutes, is taken in language 2 and requires at least 20/40. It forms part of Part 2, alongside EU Knowledge and EUFTE, for candidates who pass the Part 1 reasoning tests.
It is not looking for technical experts, but for people able to manage information, communicate effectively online, create basic digital content and protect their data.

The test assesses five DigComp areas: information and data literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, safety and problem solving. The last includes identifying digital needs and resolving everyday difficulties; the other four are described below:

  • Digital literacy: searching for, interpreting and evaluating information on the internet and in digital media.
  • Online communication and collaboration: managing emails, virtual meetings and collaborative networks.
  • Content creation: producing documents, presentations or data while respecting the correct rules and formats.
  • Digital security: identifying risks and applying basic data and device protection practices.
